Our company culture is built on a foundation of teamwork, innovation, and a commitment to excellence. **Job Summary** As a Category Merchant, you will be responsible for supporting the development of defined product categories, executing retail business plans, and aiding your team in strategic planning. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to maximize sales and profit for assigned business units, supervise and manage a team, and collaborate with brand development and packaging teams. If you are a motivated and results-driven professional with a passion for retail and category management, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity. **Key Responsibilities** * Execute and follow-up on retail assortment and category reviews to ensure alignment with business objectives * Create and hone business plans, including strong and detailed promotional programs, to maximize Gross Profit Dollars and improve profitability * Analyze and recommend various pricing strategies by item and category to drive sales and revenue growth * Coordinate promotional plans to drive average basket and increase sales per sq. ft. * Collaborate across a cross-functional team to maximize sales and profit for assigned business units * Supervise, manage, and develop a team while maximizing productivity * Inventory collaboration for sales planning and lead item transition process across all relative departments and define forecasts * Assist Space planner in roll out of new programs and present plans to all levels of management, including executives * Multitask and direct multiple projects simultaneously to achieve exceptional results * Collaborate with brand development and packaging teams to drive business growth and improve profitability **Requirements** * Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is required * A minimum of 4 years' experience in Merchandising/Category Management or a related field * Previous experience supervising and managing others is a plus * Excellent leadership, negotiating, presentation, and planning skills are a must * Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required * Comfortable presenting to all levels of management, including executives * Excellent written and verbal communication skills **Physical Requirements** * General office environment requiring ability to: + Stand, walk, sit for extended periods of time + Speak and listen to others in person and over the phone + Use keyboard and read from computer screen and reports + Lift up to 15 lbs. **Benefits** * Competitive salary range: $114,400 - $171,700 depending on location, knowledge, skills, education, and experience * Annual discretionary bonus * Comprehensive and competitive benefits to Associates (and their families), including: + Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability + Company's 401k plan + Paid time off up to 236 hours per year (inclusive of PTO, floating holidays, and paid holidays) + Paid sick time up to 80 hours per year unless otherwise required by law **Why Join Harbor Freight Tools?** * Opportunity to work with a leading national tool retailer with a reputation for delivering quality and value to our customers * Collaborative and dynamic work environment with a team of passionate and dedicated professionals * Opportunity to grow and develop your career in a fast-paced and ever-changing industry * Comprehensive benefits package and competitive salary range * Remote work arrangement with flexibility to work from home **How to Apply** If you are a motivated and results-driven professional with a passion for retail and category management, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
