Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated experienced Claims professional to join our team. The position requires the person to:
Ā Be available for frequent travel up to 21 days at a time. Travel is required upon short notice to location of catastrophe, which would most likely be out of state.
Ā Meet the physical demands required for the position including carrying and climbing a ladder.
Ā Investigate and assemble facts, determine policy coverage, evaluate the amount of loss, analyze legal liability and pay or deny losses.
Ā Be familiar with insurance coverage by studying insurance policies, endorsements, and forms.
Ā Work towards the resolution of claims, possibly attending arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as necessary.
Ā Ensure that claims payments are issued in a timely and accurate manner.
Desired Skills & Experience
Ā Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Ā Minimum of 2 years claims handling experience or comparable experience
Ā Field claims experience with multi-line property and casualty claims and wind/hail
Ā Proficient with Xactimate software
Ā Above average communication skills (written and verbal)
Ā Ability to resolve complex issues
Ā Organize and interpret data
Ā Ability to handle multiple assignments
Ā Possess a valid driver's license
Ā Military experience is considered

Compensation
Auto-Owners offers a generous compensation package. For this position, the anticipated annualized starting base pay range is: $50,000.00 - $88,800.00. Other components of the compensation package include benefit dollars used to purchase certain benefits and several bonus opportunities.
