Key Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students, focusing on business, computer skills, career exploration, entrepreneurship, money management, coding, and digital media. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning, promoting student participation, and encouraging academic achievement. Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records of student performance. Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment. Integrate technology into daily instruction, utilizing digital tools and resources to enhance student learning and engagement. Stay up-to-date with best practices in business and computer education, incorporating innovative methods and technologies into your teaching. Participate in staff meetings, serve on committees, and contribute to the development of school policies and initiatives. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must possess: A valid Missouri teaching certification in Business Education (5-9) or be eligible for certification. A degree in a relevant field, such as Business Education, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Strong knowledge of business and computer concepts, including coding, digital media, and entrepreneurship. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents. Proficiency in using technology to enhance instruction, including district software and online resources. A commitment to ongoing professional development, staying current with best practices in business and computer education. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience teaching business and computer courses to middle school students. A proven track record of developing and implementing innovative lesson plans that engage students and promote academic achievement. Familiarity with project-based learning, STEM education, and coding initiatives. Experience working with diverse student populations, including students with varying abilities and learning needs. A strong understanding of district policies and procedures, as well as state and national standards for business and computer education.
