Our 2025 Building and Systems Engineering (BaSE) Summer Internship is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team that drives progress and pushes boundaries.

About the Role

This internship is designed to give you hands-on experience in Engineering from a Project Management perspective. You'll work on targeted projects that contribute to the improvement of asset management processes, exploring currently deployed automation sortation and robotics initiatives across the UPS network. You'll also be involved in reporting on process improvement initiatives and monitoring existing UPS maintenance process improvement initiatives. As a BaSE Summer Intern, you'll have the opportunity to develop your technical and soft skills, working closely with multiple levels of UPS employees and vendors to complete assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities


Project Management: Maintain and meet project schedules, ensuring timely completion of tasks and deliverables.
Collaboration: Work with multiple engineering disciplines, UPS employees, and vendors to achieve project goals and objectives.
Skill Development: Apply and develop technical and soft skills through daily interactions with team members, enhancing your expertise and knowledge.
Process Improvement: Contribute to the improvement of asset management processes, exploring innovative solutions and best practices.
Communication: Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders.


Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:


Education: Rising Junior or Senior currently enrolled in a degreed college/university program, or recent graduate within the last 24 months earning a Bachelor's Degree or international equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communications, and people skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook), with basic skills in MySQL, Power BI, and AutoCAD software (preferred).
Availability: Must be available to work 40 hours per week.


Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following skills and experiences will give you a competitive edge:


Technical Expertise: Basic MySQL skills, with experience in database management and data analysis.
Data Visualization: Basic Power BI skills, with the ability to create interactive and insightful reports.
Design and Drafting: Basic AutoCAD software skills, with experience in creating detailed designs and models.
