Job Summary We are seeking Bilingual English Language Arts Tutors to work with young learners in the Indianapolis area. As a tutor with our organization, you will be responsible for providing academic assistance and guidance to students, serving as a role model, and implementing our tutoring strategy. You will also be required to communicate regularly with our management team and school staff on student progress and submit online timesheets and session notes. This is a unique, on-premises tutoring model that offers consistent and steady hours. Available days and hours are Monday through Friday, 9:30am - 3:30pm, and tutors must be able to work at least two of the available five days per week. Key Responsibilities Provide students with academic assistance and guidance in English Language Arts, grades 3-8 Implement the tutoring strategy within established timelines Communicate regularly with College Tutors management and school staff on student progress Submit online timesheets and session notes within 24 hours of completion of each session Assist in the development of a positive attitude toward learning, studying, and academics Serve as a role model to students and embody the College Tutors Core Values Essential Qualifications Must be bilingual (Spanish and English) Believe in the potential of all students and have a natural drive to help each student achieve their academic goals Communication Skills: ability to listen to others, provide appropriate feedback, and communicate professionally Interpersonal Skills: ability to build rapport with students and teachers and work both independently and collaboratively At least one year of certificate from a college or technical school or currently enrolled in a higher education institution Educational development knowledge and skills: some experience related to education or field of study, and ability to demonstrate competency Must have a source of reliable transportation Can complete the entire semester Preferred Qualifications Previous tutoring experience, although not required, is an asset Experience working with students in grades 3-8 Knowledge of English Language Arts curriculum and standards Ability to adapt to new situations and challenges Strong organizational and time management skills Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
