As an Audio Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality sound for our productions, including live events, studio recordings, and pre-recorded materials for the ESPN group of networks and distribution platforms. Job Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for providing sound mixing and technical support for live events, studio productions, and pre-recorded materials. As a Sound Administrator I, you will work closely with our team to ensure that all sound sources, including microphones, music, sound effects, and live sound, are properly mixed and balanced to create an exceptional audio experience. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, as well as collaborating with other team members to ensure seamless execution of our productions.

Key Responsibilities

Blend and balance multiple sound sources, including microphones, music, sound effects, and live sound, to create a high-quality audio experience
Configure and operate sound mixing consoles, outboard equipment, sound and video routing, digital audio delivery servers, microphone and IFB systems, and other audio equipment
Measure sound signals to ensure quality control of ESPN-supported standards on all projects, using thorough knowledge of broadcast techniques
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues using effective communication to convey problems and solutions
Collaborate with other team members, including A2s, to ensure seamless execution of productions
Set up and operate portable unit communication systems, and guide A2s in the compound, field, and booths as necessary
Manage all functional and technical aspects of assigned events, including sound mixing consoles, outboard equipment, sound and video routing, and other audio equipment


Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

At least 2 years of practical experience in remote production operations at a network level in an A1 role
Proficiency in mixing stereo and 5.1 program feeds
Knowledge of sound metering devices, including an Encompass Sound Analyzer, Stage meter, and Noise Meters
Strong understanding of sound boards and consoles, sound signal flow concepts, radio systems, signal processing equipment, and communication panels
Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills using technical expertise and solid technical tools to convey issues and solutions
Flexibility to travel and work on Saturdays, Sundays, and events as scheduled and show needs require


Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

Strong knowledge of broadcast communication equipment and remote production show needs
Experience working with ESPN or other major broadcast networks
Familiarity with digital audio workstations and audio editing software
Certifications in audio engineering or related fields
