About the Role: Assistant Night Manager We're seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Night Manager to join our team in Roanoke, VA. As an Assistant Night Manager, you'll play a critical role in overseeing the club and directing the work of the overnight team in the absence of the Night Manager. Your expertise and leadership skills will be essential in driving business results, developing team members, and ensuring excellent member service. Key Responsibilities: Oversee club operations and direct the work of the overnight team in the absence of the Night Manager Coach, teach, and develop overnight team members to ensure excellent member service and effective merchandising Lead through change, model leadership competencies, and build credibility to drive business growth Communicate effectively with team members, provide timely direction and feedback, and drive business results Teach, coach, and lead team members through the club level training process, supporting team member engagement and development Ensure a safe and positive environment and experience for team members and members Drive a culture of inclusion and diversity, working collaboratively with team members to achieve goals Guarantee service excellence through all points of contact, setting service standard expectations for team members Lead teams to deliver GOLD club standards daily, maintaining a clean, organized, and well-merchandised store Acquire a deep knowledge of key metrics and reporting for total club and department performance, driving performance and profitability Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities: Supervise the club and overnight team members in the absence of the Night Manager Model and provide excellent member service, coaching and developing overnight team members to do the same Train, coach, motivate, recognize, and provide input on evaluation of overnight team members Ensure merchandise is properly displayed, has appropriate signage, and is available for sale in proper quantities Follow and execute company directives related to merchandising, resets, and sales initiatives Operate a forklift in a safe and efficient manner, inspecting equipment prior to use and following established safety standards Maintain all club policies and procedures, ensuring team members follow safety and sanitation guidelines Utilize online task management system (MyWork) to manage workflow, track, and monitor daily club operations Qualifications and Requirements: To be successful in this role, you'll need: A valid driver's license Forklift operator certification (or willingness to be certified by BJ's) At least 18 years of age Prior forklift operating and merchandising experience Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including supervising cross-functional teams and driving results High school diploma, college degree, and/or big box wholesale, retail, grocery, and/or management experience (preferred) Open shift availability required What We Offer: At BJ's Wholesale Club, we're committed to supporting our team members' well-being and providing a comprehensive benefits package.
