About the Role As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of students, from kindergarten to high school, and make a positive impact on their educational journey. This is a flexible, remote position that allows you to choose your own schedule and work at your own pace. We offer competitive pay rates, with up to $190 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments, as well as a range of benefits and support to help you succeed in the classroom. Key Responsibilities Teach a variety of subjects, including math, science, English, and social studies, to students of different ages and skill levels Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of your students Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff to ensure a smooth and successful learning experience Be flexible and adaptable, with the ability to think on your feet and adjust to changing circumstances Collaborate with other teachers and educators to share best practices and improve student outcomes Essential Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits Three professional references, with at least one from a previous direct supervisor NJ Substitute Credential Background check and TB risk assessment (we will cover the cost of this) Full COVID-19 vaccination A passion for education and a commitment to putting students first An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be Preferred Qualifications Experience working with students of different ages and skill levels Knowledge of trauma-informed teaching, classroom management, and other educational best practices Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Familiarity with educational technology and software What We Offer At Scoot Education, we are committed to supporting our substitute teachers every step of the way.
