Job Overview We are urgently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Substitute Teacher - High School to join our team in Denver, CO. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on teaching experience on your own schedule, working with a variety of high schools and students. We offer the highest pay rates among substitute providers, with up to $189 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments. Key Responsibilities Teach a variety of subjects to high school students, following the lesson plans and instructions provided by the regular teacher Manage the classroom environment, ensuring a safe and respectful learning space for all students Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, adapting to the needs and abilities of your students Assess student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their academic goals Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff, building strong relationships and resolving any issues that may arise Participate in professional development opportunities, staying up-to-date with best practices in education and improving your teaching skills Essential Qualifications High School Diploma or Bachelor's degree Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor CO Substitute Teacher Authorization (or in the process of obtaining) Background check (we'll cover the cost of the one you do with Scoot) A passion for education and putting students first An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be Preferred Qualifications Experience working with high school students, either as a teacher or in a related field Strong knowledge of curriculum design and implementation Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing circumstances and priorities Familiarity with educational technology and software Skills and Competencies Classroom management: ability to create a positive and respectful learning environment Lesson planning: ability to design and implement engaging and effective lesson plans Communication: ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff Adaptability: ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities Emotional intelligence: ability to understand and manage your own emotions, as well as those of your students Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Scoot Education, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of our Substitute Teachers.
