About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team in the South Bay and Harbor areas of Los Angeles. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of schools, including Redondo Beach USD, Hermosa Beach City USD, Hawthorne USD, Culver City USD, Environmental Charter Schools, Scholarship Prep Charter School, and Vistamar School, among others. You will be responsible for creating engaging and interactive learning experiences for students, building strong relationships with school staff and communities, and continuously reflecting on your practice to become a better educator. Key Responsibilities Teach a range of subjects, including but not limited to math, science, English, history, and physical education, to students of various ages and skill levels Develop and implement lesson plans, adapting to the needs and abilities of each class Build strong relationships with students, staff, and school communities, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment Communicate effectively with school administrators, teachers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration into the school community Participate in paid training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge Reflect on your practice, seeking feedback and continuously improving your teaching strategies and techniques Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong background in and/or passion for education, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should be reliable, punctual, and professional, with a growth mindset and empathetic nature. A 30 Day Substitute Teaching Permit or CA Teaching Credential is highly desirable, although not essential.
