About the Role We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Spanish teacher to join our middle school team for the 2023-24 academic year. As a Spanish teacher at Frick United Academy of Languages, you will be responsible for teaching Spanish language and culture to students in grades 6-8. You will create engaging and interactive lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, and you will work closely with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of our students. Key Responsibilities * Teach Spanish language and culture to students in grades 6-8 * Develop and implement engaging and interactive lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities * Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners * Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of our students * Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay current with best practices in language instruction * Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment * Participate in school-wide events and activities that promote language and cultural awareness Essential Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field * California teaching credential authorizing instruction in Spanish * Experience teaching Spanish language and culture to middle school students * Strong knowledge of Spanish language and culture, including grammar, vocabulary, and cultural practices * Ability to create engaging and interactive lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues * Ability to assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners Preferred Qualifications * Master's degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field * Experience teaching Spanish language and culture to students with diverse learning needs and abilities * Knowledge of language acquisition theories and best practices in language instruction * Experience with curriculum development and implementation * Strong technology skills, including proficiency in educational software and online platforms * Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment Skills and Competencies * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues * Ability to create engaging and interactive lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities * Strong knowledge of Spanish language and culture, including grammar, vocabulary, and cultural practices * Ability to assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners * Strong technology skills, including proficiency in educational software and online platforms * Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Frick United Academy of Languages, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of our teachers.
