As a Secondary Math Teacher - CHS, you will be responsible for teaching assigned classes using the educational philosophy and policies adopted by the Board of Education. Key Responsibilities
Teach assigned classes using the educational philosophy and policies adopted by the Board of Education
Utilize State and District curriculum guidelines to plan and implement a program of study that meets students' needs, interests, and abilities
Interpret and use data from a variety of educational sources to improve instruction
Attend new student orientation and choice open house nights, as well as other evening events
Create, organize, and facilitate a club or extracurricular activity
Monitor and maintain the working condition of course technology
Interact with colleagues to promote cross-content instruction and school-wide collaboration
Regularly communicate with students concerning their academic and behavioral progress
Create opportunities for students to display their work for parents, community, etc.
Use appropriate instructional methods contingent upon available materials
Identify students with special learning problems and take appropriate action
Encourage and assist in the development of independent study habits
Act in ways that promote students' feelings of self-worth
Maintain accurate and timely records and make reports as necessary
Recognize the importance of parent/guardian and teacher cooperation and confer with parents as appropriate
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must hold or be eligible for State of Delaware Certification - Secondary Math. You must also be able to stand and work continuously for a minimum of 4 hours per workday and lift a minimum of 50 pounds (with assistance). Additionally, you must be able to use your arms and hands without restrictions to accommodate the physical, mobility, and ambulatory needs of students.
