Job Description We are seeking an experienced and passionate Physical Education Teacher to join our team at KIPP Northstar. As a Physical Education Teacher, you will play a critical role in helping our students develop the physical skills and confidence they need to succeed in life. You will be responsible for planning and executing high-quality daily lessons that lead to high levels of student achievement, as well as building and supporting a school-wide culture of excellence. Key Responsibilities Implement the school-wide student management policies within classrooms and everywhere on campus Create and teach highly rigorous and engaging lessons in the elective area of Physical Education Assist in the development of curriculum standards and mapping Establish and maintain strong communication lines with all parents Create a classroom environment that is warm and demanding Maintain a neat, clean classroom environment and a high level of professionalism Perform morning, lunch, and afternoon duties as assigned and attend all staff meetings With support from school leaders, use data to drive instructional practices to constantly improve student achievement and instruction Seek to constantly develop and improve teaching practices through ongoing feedback conversations with School Leaders and other school faculty within KIPP Minnesota Qualifications Required: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in the educational field Required: MN teaching license in Physical Education Desired: Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction Desired: Strong classroom management skills Desired: Effective communication skills Desired: Ability to build successful relationships with students, parents, and staff Desired: Experience working in historically educationally underserved communities and communities of color Essential Skills and Competencies Strong knowledge of physical education curriculum and instructional methods Ability to create engaging and challenging lessons for students of varying skill levels Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and school leaders Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to use data to drive instructional practices Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At KIPP Minnesota, we are committed to providing our teachers with the support and resources they need to grow and develop in their careers.
