Job Overview
In this rewarding and challenging role, you will be responsible for planning, assessing, and instructing 4-year-old children, based on their individual needs and the requirements of the GSRP grant. You will strive to create a safe, comfortable, and engaging learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive development. Key Responsibilities
Plan and implement developmentally-appropriate instruction for children using research-based curriculum
Maintain accurate student records in accordance with license renewal requirements
Enroll new students and help advertise the program in and beyond the community
Collaborate with kindergarten staff to build a connection and smooth transition for students moving out of the program the following fall
Enter weekly Health Reports and maintain the appropriate staff to student ratio
Follow all licensing guidelines related to the Great Start Readiness Program, including meeting with families on-site and keeping accurate COR notes
Exercise discretion and confidentiality in dealing with staff and operations
Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
A degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education or a related field
One of the following: A Child Development Associate credential (CDA), an Associate of Arts in early childhood/preschool education or child development, 120 clock hours of documented formal child care education, or a four-year degree with an endorsement in early childhood education
Recommendation by an administrator who has supervised your work for at least one year
CPR and First Aid certification
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and the community
Strong organizational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with 4-year-old children in a preschool or kindergarten setting
Knowledge of research-based curriculum and instructional strategies
Experience with student assessment and progress monitoring
Ability to speak multiple languages (desired but not required)
