Key Responsibilities Develop and implement instructional plans and materials that meet the needs of diverse learners Provide instruction that reflects multiple perspectives and multicultural education Assess student progress and evaluate the effectiveness of instructional strategies Create a classroom environment that is conducive to academic excellence and social growth Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to promote student learning and achievement Stay current with best practices in English Language Arts education and incorporate technology into the curriculum Participate in staff development and professional growth opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: Bachelor's degree in English Language Arts or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university Hold or be eligible for Educator Certification: Professional Eligibility Certificate (PEC) educator certificate appropriate to the assigned teaching content area issued by Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations and promote equity and inclusion in the classroom Ability to employ a variety of teaching styles to respond to the needs of diverse learners Proficiency with business technology applications, including video conferencing tools and learning management systems Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following preferred qualifications are highly desirable: Master's degree in English Language Arts or a related field Experience teaching English Language Arts in a remote or traditional classroom setting Knowledge of current trends, research, and methodology in instructional techniques and technology Experience with project-based learning, differentiated instruction, and universal design for learning Bilingual or biliterate in a targeted language Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong knowledge of English Language Arts curriculum and instructional strategies Ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that values diversity and promotes equity Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to promote student learning and achievement Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Anne Arundel County Public Schools, we are committed to supporting the professional growth and development of our educators.
