Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality dance lessons to students of all ages and skill levels, including beginners and advanced students
Develop and implement engaging and challenging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students
Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help students improve their technique and artistic expression
Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to develop and implement integrated curriculum and performing arts programs

Stay up-to-date with best practices in dance education and continuously update and refine teaching methods and materials
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Dance or a related field, such as Education, Fine Arts, or Performing Arts
Successful completion of all student teaching requirements and possession of a valid Illinois Educator License (PEL) with Grades K-8 endorsement in Dance
Strong skill sets in teaching various genres of dance, including ballet, modern, jazz, and hip-hop
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians
Wide-ranging intellectual and educational interests, with a commitment to equity and justice, including knowledge and skills related to cultural competencies
Familiarity with new technologies and the ability to integrate technology into teaching practices
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Dance or a related field, such as Education, Fine Arts, or Performing Arts
Experience teaching dance to students of all ages and skill levels, including beginners and advanced students
Knowledge of contemporary principles and practices of teaching, including differentiated instruction and assessment
Experience with integrated curriculum and performing arts programs, including collaboration with other teachers and staff members
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their full potential

Strong knowledge of dance techniques and styles, including ballet, modern, jazz, and hip-hop
