Job Summary
The part-time Child Care Teacher will plan, organize, and participate in a variety of educational and socialization activities for our After School Child Care and Tiny Tot programs. The successful candidate will provide instruction and direction for enrollees, perform related work as required, and maintain a safe and healthy environment for children. We are looking for a reliable and skilled individual who is knowledgeable about child development, behavior management methods, and state and local regulations for licensed child care facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and participate in educational and socialization activities for children, including arts, crafts, music, and outdoor play
Provide instruction and direction for enrollees, including homework assistance and educational activities
Maintain a safe and healthy environment for children, including inspecting facilities and equipment for safety and performing first aid and CPR as needed
Develop and implement behavior management plans to support children's social and emotional development
Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and children, including providing regular updates on children's progress and activities
Maintain accurate records, including attendance, incident reports, and progress notes
Collaborate with other staff members to plan and implement special events and activities
Perform other related duties as required, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment and facilities


Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have:

High School graduation or G.E.D. equivalent
Twelve (12) college units in Child Development, of which (6) units must be in Early Child Education
Certification by either the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association in Child/Infant CPR
Certification by the American Red Cross in First Aid
Valid Class C California's Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record


Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

Experience working with children in a child care or educational setting
Knowledge of state and local regulations for licensed child care facilities
Ability to speak multiple languages, including Spanish, Mandarin, or other languages spoken in the community
Experience with behavior management methods and techniques
