Job Responsibilities As an Amazon Remote Data Entry and Business Intelligence Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include: Working with stakeholders and engineering teams to identify and scope the right data structure and technology to facilitate the analysis of common Amazon customer behavioral questions Partnering with associate engineering teams to enhance data infrastructure, data availability, and access to customer insights made available through BI tools across the organization Designing, building, and implementing the right ETL methods using AWS and similar technologies Implementing anomaly detection systems to proactively address potential data quality issues using industry-standard frameworks Enabling large-scale analytics using EMR and other big data technologies Establishing and implementing technology best practices to be followed across the organization Working on proof of concepts for the adoption of new technologies and tools Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have: 3+ years of data engineering experience Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines Experience with SQL Experience with one or more query languages (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala) Experience with one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, KornShell) Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR Experience with big data processing technology (e.g., Hadoop or Apache Spark), data warehouse technical architecture, infrastructure components, ETL, and reporting/analytic tools and environments Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess: Excellent analytical skills Deep knowledge of business intelligence solutions The ability to quickly learn, adapt, and work with a variety of technologies Strong communication and collaboration skills The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity and large datasets Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Amazon, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
