Job Overview and Key Responsibilities As a Ramp Agent at blithequark, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers' baggage and cargo arrive safely and on time. This is an entry-level position that offers a unique opportunity to launch your career in the airline industry. The role involves physical work tasks, including bending, lifting, standing, and walking, and you will be required to work in various weather conditions. Your daily tasks will include: Safely lifting, loading, unloading, and transporting baggage, mail, and cargo to and from aircraft, as well as guiding incoming and departing aircraft from gate positions to ensure timely connections. Safeguarding cargo, baggage, and mail from damage, loss, and weather. Safely driving and operating ground equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and tow tractors in areas of congestion. Operating baggage scanners and computers to ensure baggage is routed accurately to the customer's destination. Scheduling and Work Environment Scheduling for this role is based on operational needs, with shifts ranging from early morning to overnight. You can expect to work between 20 and 40 hours per week, depending on your seniority. Each station's schedule is unique and based on its individual flight schedule. As a Ramp Agent, you will be required to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, both independently and as part of a team. Minimum Qualifications for Success To succeed as a Ramp Agent at blithequark, you will need to meet the following minimum qualifications: Consistently prioritize safety and security of self, others, and personal data. Embrace diverse people, thinking, and styles. Possess a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. Be at least 18 years of age and have authorization to work in the United States. Have a valid driver's license. Be proficient in English. Pass a physical ability test (PAT). Must wear required company-approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include, but not limited to: hearing protection, safety-toe footwear, protective headwear (bump cap or hard hat), and high visibility safety apparel, subject to an approved accommodation. Ability to hold airport-specific requirements such as a SIDA Badge and Customs Seal.
