Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Administrative Coordinator II to provide administrative support for our unit, including specialized activities that require discretion and independent judgment. As an Administrative Coordinator II, you will play a vital role in coordinating travel, planning events, and providing academic advice to graduate students and prospective students. Your exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask will be essential in this position. Key Responsibilities Provide administrative support for faculty, program assistants, and students, including coordinating travel arrangements, planning events, and maintaining office files and records. Offer academic advice to graduate students and prospective students on admission, financial aid, degree programs, and course planning. Develop and maintain administrative databases, oversee the preparation of agendas, and provide staffing assistance to meetings. Assist in resolving complex, highly sensitive, and confidential administrative matters, and apply, interpret, and communicate University policies and procedures. Supervise student workers, assign tasks, and evaluate job progress, as well as train staff on the use of word processing, desktop publishing, presentation, and data management applications. Coordinate textbook adoption, register new students, and use SIMS for student registration, degree audit, and course prerequisites. Provide logistical and administrative support for events, meetings, guest speakers, and other special functions, including on-site support. Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three years of experience in office administration. Knowledge of spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Interpersonal and communication skills, with planning and organization skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a TAMU administrative position. Experience in student advising. Familiarity with University policies and procedures. Skills and Competencies Exceptional organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
