About the Role We are seeking an experienced and passionate ACT/SAT Tutor & School Programs Teacher to join our team of dedicated educators. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and specialized academic and test-prep instruction to high school (and some middle school) students across the Chicagoland area. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, specialized academic and test-prep instruction to high school (and some middle school) students across the Chicagoland area, both virtually and in-person. Build strong relationships with students, parents, and administrators in a supportive and professional manner. Maintain accurate calendars and respond to administrators, students, and parents in a timely manner. Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills and professionalism in both remote and in-person settings. Attend required training and professional development events to stay up-to-date on best practices and curriculum developments. What We Offer As a valued member of our team, you can expect: A competitive salary, starting at $30/hr for 1-on-1 tutoring and $47/hr for classroom teaching, with potential for increases based on performance. Flexibility in building your schedule while supporting the needs of our students. Robust (paid) training, including our Gateway Training module, which is a combination of synchronous sessions and asynchronous homework. Personalized coaching and development, support, and continuing education from our Instructional Management Team. Exceptional proprietary curriculum and instructional materials. Travel compensation for school programs that require a commute of at least 30 minutes and 15 miles. Required Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must have: A bachelor's degree in any subject or major. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and educational equity. Passion for supporting student success. Ability to demonstrate academic expertise in English, math, reading, and science. Access to a computer with a webcam, mic, and a reliable internet connection (with at least 100 Mbps download and 100 Mbps upload speed) for virtual instruction. Consistent availability of at least 10 hours per week. The ability to teach all subjects on the ACT. Preferred Qualifications We welcome applications from candidates with: Teaching or tutoring experience, particularly in the areas of English, math, reading, and science. Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and abilities. Knowledge of curriculum development and instructional design. Experience with online learning platforms and tools. What to Expect Next As part of our hiring process, you will be required to complete a content quiz that includes English and math questions prior to being considered for an interview. This quiz should take approximately 30-45 minutes to complete. You will also be required to attend our Gateway Training module, which is a combination of synchronous sessions and asynchronous homework. This training is typically offered over 2-3 weeks and takes an estimated 31 hours to complete. A stipend of $500 will be provided for this training. Why Join Our Team?
