Job Overview We are seeking talented and experienced instructors to teach ACT preparation classes to students participating in the Upward Bound program. As an ACT Test Prep Instructor, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of students, helping them to improve their test-taking skills and achieve their academic goals. Our ideal candidate will possess exceptional standardized test scores, previous teaching or public speaking experience, and a strong passion for education. Key Responsibilities Prepare and deliver instruction for an existing curriculum, using PowerPoint modules and associated textbooks and study aids Keep and submit accurate attendance records, ensuring that all necessary documentation is up-to-date and accurate Complete occasional online training, staying current with the latest developments in test preparation and education Deliver both math and verbal content, helping students to improve their test-taking skills and achieve their academic goals Teach 4-5 courses per year, with each course consisting of 16-20 face-to-face hours of classroom instruction Essential Qualifications Experience with teaching or public speaking, with a strong ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner Exceptional standardized test scores, with a strong understanding of the ACT test format and content Proficiency in both math and verbal skills tested on the ACT, with the ability to teach and explain complex concepts to students Bachelor's Degree, with a strong academic background in a relevant field Preferred Qualifications Previous experience teaching test preparation classes, with a strong understanding of the Upward Bound program and its goals Availability to teach on weekends during the school year and/or weekdays during the summer, with a flexible schedule and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and other stakeholders Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a range of skills and competencies, including: Strong knowledge of the ACT test format and content, with the ability to teach and explain complex concepts to students Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and other stakeholders Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities Strong passion for education and a commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of students Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Educational Testing Consultants, we are committed to providing our instructors with opportunities for career growth and professional development.
