Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate ABA Technician/ABA Tutor to join our team of professionals working with secondary students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). As an ABA Technician/ABA Tutor, you will play a vital role in implementing individualized academic and behavior programs, providing instruction using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and supporting students in achieving their goals. Key Responsibilities Work directly with students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, implementing individualized academic and behavior programs tailored to their unique needs and goals. Provide instruction using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), including discrete trial instruction, task analysis, and naturalistic teaching techniques. Implement student-specific behavior plans to decrease challenging behaviors and increase functional behaviors, collecting ongoing data to monitor progress and inform instruction. Deliver programs in the home setting to increase appropriate social skills and activities of daily living, facilitating social interactions and modeling implementation of academic and behavior programs for parents. Gather and maintain students' materials, data sheets, and program notebooks, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of student progress. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to student support. Attend to the personal needs and safety of students, including escorts, toileting, toilet training, and supervision during lunch, as required. Essential Qualifications Bachelor's Degree preferred, although relevant experience and training in ABA and special education may be considered. Classroom experience preferred, with a strong understanding of instructional strategies and techniques for supporting students with ASD. ABA experience preferred, with knowledge of discrete trial instruction, task analysis, and naturalistic teaching techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other support staff. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities. Commitment to working in a racially and culturally diverse teaching and learning community, with a passion for supporting students from diverse backgrounds. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with secondary students with ASD, with a strong understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities of this age group. Training and experience in crisis intervention and prevention, with the ability to respond effectively to challenging behaviors and situations. Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems, with experience supporting students with complex communication needs. Familiarity with educational technology, including software and hardware used to support instruction and data collection. Skills and Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data to inform instruction and support student progress. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other support staff. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a strong sense of flexibility and adaptability.
