Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and compassionate 988 Chat/Text Crisis Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis, working Friday to Sunday from 6 pm to 2:30 am CST. As a remote position, you will be part of a 24/7/365 mental health crisis/suicide prevention focused team, providing critical support to individuals in need. Key Responsibilities Provide telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments to individuals experiencing emotional distress Answer crisis contacts via the chat/text platform to assess for suicide, safety, and identify appropriate community resources Conduct follow-up calls for individuals deemed moderate to high risk for suicide Meet ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditation requirements Actively participate in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings Assist in administrative tasks as needed Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field, or be a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Six months to one year of related crisis experience Effective communication skills via written, verbal, in-person, and virtual methods High-level customer service skills and professional etiquette Demonstrated knowledge and competency in providing service linkage and referrals for programs, services, and community resources Knowledge of suicide assessments and skill in providing crisis intervention Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are desirable: Experience working in a crisis intervention or mental health setting Familiarity with the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL) and 988 services Certification in crisis intervention or a related field Career Growth and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of our employees.
