Executive Director / Senior Director, Portfolio & Asset Strategy
Location: Remote
Compensation: $230β280K Base + Bonus + Equity
Scientific Search has partnered with a well-funded clinical-stage oncology biotech developing next-generation antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) therapies targeting difficult-to-treat cancers.
Our client is seeking an Executive Director / Senior Director of Portfolio & Asset Strategy to lead integrated strategy across multiple clinical-stage oncology assets. This role will serve as the strategic lead across the pipeline, working closely with senior leadership to shape development strategy, portfolio prioritization, and long-term asset value creation.
This is a highly visible role ideal for a strategic biotech leader who enjoys working at the intersection of clinical development, corporate strategy, and business development in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
β’ Lead asset-level strategy across clinical-stage oncology programs including target product profiles, indication prioritization, biomarker strategy, clinical development planning, and commercial positioning
β’ Translate complex clinical and scientific data into clear strategic recommendations for executive leadership and Board-level discussions
β’ Partner closely with Clinical Development, R&D, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and CMC to align development strategy across the organization
β’ Integrate competitive intelligence, emerging clinical data, and market insights into ongoing portfolio strategy
β’ Support business development initiatives, including diligence on potential in-licensing opportunities and new technologies
β’ Contribute to partnering materials, investor communications, and strategic narratives supporting company growth
β’ Engage external consultants, advisors, and key opinion leaders (KOLs) to inform strategy and development decisions
Requirements
β’ PhD, MD, PharmD, or MS/MBA with strong scientific and strategic background
β’ 5β10+ years of experience in biopharma portfolio strategy, asset strategy, or new product planning
β’ Experience in biopharma strategy consulting, investment banking, or equity research strongly preferred
β’ Strong oncology background with experience supporting clinical-stage programs
β’ Proven ability to operate effectively in small to mid-sized biotech environments
β’ Experience working closely with executive leadership teams
Preferred Experience
β’ Experience with antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), biologics, or targeted oncology therapies
β’ Experience in lung cancer (NSCLC/SCLC) and/or gynecologic oncology
β’ Background collaborating with Medical Affairs or translational science teams
