ETL/Data Integration Developer (Remote Opportunity)
VetsEZ is seeking a remote ETL/Data Integration Developer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and implement data integration solutions, leveraging expertise in ETL processes and a strong understanding of data architecture, all within a collaborative Agile environment.
The candidate must reside within the continental US.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data across diverse systems.
• Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and meet business objectives.
• Optimize data pipelines to ensure efficiency, scalability, and performance.
• Build data integration workflows using tools like Talend, Informatica, or Apache Nifi.
• Perform data validation, profiling, and cleansing to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Implement best practices for data integration, security, and governance in compliance with federal guidelines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data integration issues while providing ongoing system support.
• Document data flows, processes, and technical specifications.
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and retrospectives.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of experience.
• 3+ years of experience in ETL development and data integration projects.
• Proficiency in ETL tools such as Talend, Informatica, or Apache Nifi.
• Expertise in SQL and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server).
• Familiarity with ETL patterns and data processing best practices.
• Experience with cloud-based data services like AWS Glue or Azure Data Factory.
• Strong problem-solving skills for debugging and optimizing complex workflows.
Additional Qualifications:
• Experience in SAFe/Agile Software Development.
• Familiarity with VA environment is a plus.
• Ability to obtain a government clearance.
• Azure Certified Cloud Practitioner or any related certification.
• Knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Java for data transformations.
