Job Title: Remote Glass & Glazing Estimator / Fabrication Detailer Job Type: Remote – Contract or Full-Time (Flexible) Industry: Glass & Glazing (Commercial & Residential) Job Description: We (American Glass & Glazing )are a growing glass and glazing contractor in Northern CA, seeking an experienced remote estimator who can also prepare fabrication/shop drawings based on provided rough openings and project documents. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge of glazing systems, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines. Responsibilities: • Prepare accurate material takeoffs and cost estimates from plans, specs, and bid documents • Review architectural drawings, elevations, and details • Develop fabrication/shop drawings based on provided rough openings • Size glass, frames, doors, storefronts, curtain wall, railings, and related systems • Coordinate with project management for scope clarifications • Identify missing information, conflicts, or constructability issues • Revise drawings and estimates as needed during bid and pre-construction phases Requirements: • Proven experience in glass & glazing estimating • Strong knowledge of storefront, curtain wall, doors, windows, and glazing systems • Ability to produce fabrication/shop drawings after rough openings are provided • Proficiency with industry software (AutoCAD required; Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar preferred) • Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings • Strong communication skills and reliability • Ability to work remotely and meet deadlines consistently Preferred Qualifications: • 5+ years of glazing industry experience • Familiarity with U.S. building codes and standards • Experience with both commercial and residential projects • Prior work with subcontractors or glazing contractors Compensation: • Competitive pay based on experience • Flexible hours • Long-term opportunity for the right candidate How to Apply: Please submit your resume and sample estimating work and/or fabrication drawings.
