ESG Consulting Trainee (Remote Internship)

Remote Full-time
Part-time | Fully Remote | 6 months | Paid position (~25 hours/week) Ecofiniti is a boutique sustainability and ESG consultancy working with forward-thinking companies across the UK and internationally. We help organisations communicate ESG performance in a clear, structured, and credible way. We're looking for a sharp, reliable, and values-driven ESG Consulting Trainee to join our growing team. This is a real opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sustainability consulting and contribute to meaningful work that impacts companies’ ESG journeys. What You’ll Be Doing As a trainee, you’ll support client projects across a range of ESG topics. You’ll learn by doing, with guidance from our team, and contribute to meaningful deliverables. • Drafting and editing ESG reports • Writing summaries and structured content for clients • Supporting ESG data collection and spreadsheet analysis • Researching ESG standards and upcoming regulations • Helping organise internal documentation and project updates • Collaborating with consultants across different ESG workstreams You’ll be treated like a real part of the team, not just given “intern tasks.” You don’t need to be an ESG expert when you join. We’ll support you in understanding our methodologies, frameworks, and expectations, and you’ll build confidence over time through feedback and repetition. Who This Is For This role is ideal for someone in the early stages of their career, either currently studying or recently graduated, who wants to build experience in ESG, sustainability, or consulting. You might come from backgrounds such as: • Environmental studies, social sciences, and economics • Policy, communications, or sustainability-related degrees • Or simply have a strong personal interest in ESG You’ll receive clear briefs and guidance, but you should be comfortable working independently on defined tasks and asking questions when something isn’t clear. What matters most is that you're reliable, curious, and a good communicator. What You’ll Need • Excellent written and spoken English • Comfort with remote work, self-direction, and weekly task delivery • An interest in sustainability, ESG, or climate-related work • Clear writing skills and strong attention to detail • Familiarity with Excel/Google Sheets • Organised and able to follow through on tasks Bonus Skills (Nice to Have) • Previous experience with academic or professional writing in English • Familiarity with ESG frameworks (GRI, TCFD, ESRS, etc.) • Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese or another language is a plus What You’ll Get • A paid freelance trainee contract for 6 months • Flexible working hours (~25 hours/week) • Fully remote role, work from anywhere • Real exposure to ESG consulting work, not just admin • Direct mentorship from experienced consultants • A chance to grow into a longer-term role with Ecofiniti How to Apply Apply directly through LinkedIn and include the following: Your CV A brief cover letter (1–2 paragraphs) introducing yourself and why you're applying We will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis, so we encourage you to apply soon.
