About the position

The Equipment Operator (EO) at Conrad Yelvington Distributors is responsible for moving, loading, and handling aggregate materials using heavy machinery. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of large earth-moving equipment in the terminal area, contributing to the overall productivity of the aggregate distribution network across several states.

Responsibilities
? Ensure Health & Safety standards are met by complying with legislation and company policies.
,
? Operate backhoes, bulldozers, loaders, and other heavy equipment to excavate, move, load, and grade materials.
,
? Move, load, and unload materials into/out of railcars and other transportation modes using heavy equipment.
,
? Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and perform maintenance tasks such as cleaning and lubricating.
,
? Assist Yard Manager and/or Yard Foreman in coordinating materials handling and equipment usage.
,
? Perform general construction equipment operations at the terminal when trained.
,
? Lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds as required.
,
? Complete miscellaneous jobs according to instructions given.

Requirements
? Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma preferred.
,
? Three years of experience in public works maintenance and/or construction work, including one year of heavy equipment operation.
,
? Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
,
? Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual labor as needed.
,
? Ability to communicate effectively using speaking, hearing, writing, and vision skills.

? Ability to operate heavy and complex equipment requiring skill and independent judgment.
