Every employee takes a person-centered approach that exemplifies the ICARE values (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence) through empathic communication and partnerships between all persons.Job DescriptionUnder the direction of EITS leadership, the Epic Technical Specialist is responsible for the on-going assessment, design, and development and implementation of corporate -wide clinical/revenue cycle systems. Specifically, manage and direct the collection and transformation of large quantities of information into meaningful business requirements; development and modifications of requirements documentation for the design and implementation of clinical/revenue cycle information systems; critically evaluate information from various sources, distinguish user needs from actual business needs and partner with business users, project managers, programmers, consultants and IT leadership in optimizing the scope, benefits and risks of actual and proposed projects as well as assist in managing stakeholder expectations.Duties & ResponsibilitiesReview and document business requirements and processes; communicate requirements to technical personnel through the construction of basic conceptual data, process models and flowcharts, and technical specificationsRemain up-to-date with Epic software development by reviewing release notes and participating in Epic-led webinars, which will help in maintaining and enhancing expertise through continuous learning.Work with the team on various components of the Epic system, including Cadence, Prelude, Referral, and Workqueue builds. This collaboration might also involve working with other Epic application teams to ensure optimal performance and integration.Attendance at stakeholder meetings as required, to discuss new or ongoing optimization projects to which you have been assigned.Develop status reports for submission to leadership;Provide technical and analytic knowledge for the development of the Revenue Cycle SystemResponsible for the daily monitoring and issue resolution of any system related issues reported by end users; will require daily usage of the ESD Service Now application; Work on more complex incidents, take on optimization requests and build associated that is more work intensiveInterview end users, stakeholders, and project sponsors in order to assess business needs; create business, functional and technical requirements documents based on captured data and in accordance with departmental protocol/standards.Define external interfaces, constraints, quality issues and other non-functional requirements.Ensure that all quality standards comply with internal policies and industry standards.Document changes to baseline requirements through standard change control process.Document software test plans, technical requirements, release notes, user and training guidelines and other materials.Coordinate, and support unit acceptance testing and subsequent deployments in coordination with other team leaders.Perform end user and application support functions including problem solving and resolution of application function defectsParticipate and lead in special projects as required.Identify opportunities for process improvements and provide analysis and propose change and communicate strategies.Due to the responsibilities of your position, you may be required to work beyond your regularly scheduled hoursDue to the responsibilities of your position, you will be required to travel to H+H facilities when required for meetings and work-related issues.Create statistical reporting based on end user needs within the Epic Hospital Billing module.Ability to complete demonstrations, develop effective presentations, deliver in a professional manner, and mentor lower level analysts for successPerform other duties as requiredThis role is approximately 80% remote and up to 20% on-site. The selected candidate must be able to come into the office to perform required work within 48 hours of requestMinimum Qualifications1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, applied Mathematics, Business Administration, Economics/Statistics, Telecommunications, Data Communications, or a related field of study; and2. Five (5) years of progressive, responsible experience in the field of data processing, computer systems and applications.Operations Specialty requires supervisory experience (5 years).Network Services requires a telecommunications background and experience.3. Broad knowledge and expertise in the characteristics of computers, peripheral devices, communications systems and hardware capabilities, programming languages, E.D.P. applications, systems analysis methodology, data management and retrieval techniques; or4. A satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education and experience.Department PreferencesCertification(S)/NYS Licenses/Education:Applicable certification in Cadence requiredKnowledge, Skills, Abilities and other Requirements:At least 1 full life cycle implementation, other implementation of systems, major system upgrade, or application preferred Years of Experience: Healthcare Experience preferred2+ yearsโ€™ experience with General EHR and or other qualifications preferredApplication knowledge and experience with appropriate application preferred
