Job Title: Epic Integrations Architect
Location: New Hyde Park, New York -Hybrid
Position Overview:
Northwell Health is seeking an experienced Epic Integrations Architect to lead the critical migration of our healthcare systems from Cerner to Epic. This role requires a visionary leader with technical expertise in healthcare system integrations, particularly in Epic's interoperability tools. The architect will work closely with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement seamless data integration strategies while ensuring compliance with healthcare data standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Analysis and Optimization:
• Conduct thorough analysis of Cerner's current data structures, sources, and formats to identify patterns, anomalies, and optimization opportunities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements and design data models aligned with Epic's implementation objectives.
2. Integration Strategy Development:
• Develop robust integration strategies to ensure seamless communication and data flow between Epic and other healthcare systems.
• Design and document integration interfaces, APIs, and data mappings to enable interoperability and ensure compatibility across platforms.
3. Technical Visualization and Communication:
• Create visual representations such as flowcharts, data flow diagrams, and system architecture diagrams to illustrate technical workflows and components.
• Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner to facilitate understanding across diverse stakeholders.
4. Stakeholder Collaboration and Requirements Gathering:
• Facilitate workshops and conduct stakeholder interviews to elicit and prioritize business and technical requirements.
• Translate business needs into actionable requirements, ensuring alignment with migration goals and objectives.
5. Comprehensive Project Documentation:
• Develop and maintain detailed project documentation, including requirements documents, user stories, and system specifications.
• Keep all documentation updated throughout the project lifecycle to reflect changes and updates.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as an Epic Integrations Architect or in a similar role within a large healthcare IT environment.
• Expertise in Epic interoperability tools (e.g., Bridges, Care Everywhere, HL7, FHIR) and experience with Cerner-to-Epic migrations.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to optimize and model complex healthcare data structures.
• Proficiency in creating detailed technical diagrams and maintaining comprehensive project documentation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Epic certifications in relevant modules or specialties.
• Strong understanding of healthcare data standards, including HL7, FHIR, and CDA.
• Experience with cloud-based integration tools and modern integration strategies.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and iterative development processes.
