This mid-level scientist position will be responsible for supporting multi-year projects under HGL's EPA contracts as well as support for the overall EPA programs. This position is fully remote, however, employees will be required to visit/work at local HGL offices on occasion. Some travel will be required.Responsibilities/DutiesWHAT YOU'LL BE DOING The person hired for this role will be responsible for:Supporting technical and administrative aspects of CERCLA RI/FS, RD/RA, operations and maintenance (O&M), and/or long-term monitoring (LTM) or RCRA-equivalent phases of environmental investigation and restoration projects.Meeting project scope, schedule, budget requirements.Leading and participating in project teams to meet project objectives in-line with corporate and customer quality expectations.Communicating effectively with clients, regulators, project team members, and company management.Supporting business development efforts, including leading or supporting proposal efforts.Required SkillsWHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL The ideal candidate will need the following as a foundation for success in this role:6+ years of directly related experience executing investigation and remediation projects under CERCLA and/or RCRA, including oversight of project teams, management of budget, schedule, safety, quality, technical performance, and customer satisfaction.BA/BS in Engineering, Science, or a related academic field. MA/MS in a related field may decrease the years of experience required.Excellent time management and organization skills, including the ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and keep organized to ensure timely and accurate work.Self-starter, with analytical and leadership skills, with ability to make informed decisions independently with minimal oversight during project execution. This position's final salary can be impacted by various factors including, but not limited to, contractual requirements, geographic location, job-related education, training, experience, and skills.
