Entry to Mid-Level Structural Engineer (Part-Time, Remote + Local Site Visits)

Location: Remote in Florida Tri-County Area (with local site visits in Miami Dade-Broward-Pompano Beach) Job Type: Part-Time (Flexible Hours, Potential for More) About Us: We a small but rapidly growing structural and civil engineering firm. We take on diverse projects across Colorado, Florida, and beyond, specializing in structural design, inspections, and permitting. Our team is tight-knit, motivated, and dedicated to professional growth. Right now, we have four major projects in Florida and need immediate assistance. Who We’re Looking For: We need a driven entry to mid-level structural engineer in Fort Lauderdale, FL who can confidently work on permit plan sets, attend local site visits, and collaborate remotely with our team. This role is perfect for someone eager to learn directly from our PE, take ownership of their work, and ask the right questions when needed. We are open to engineers from other disciplines, but you must have a strong foundation in structural engineering. We need a people person—someone who isn’t afraid to get out there, speak with clients, and grow with us. What You’ll Do: • Work on permit plan sets for residential & commercial projects • Assist in structural engineering calculations and design • Attend local site visits for inspections and evaluations • Collaborate with the team remotely while managing tasks independently • Engage with clients, contractors, and jurisdictions as needed Required Skills & Experience: ? AutoCAD experience (required) ? Enercalc and other structural analysis software (preferred) ? Strong foundation in structural engineering principles ? Ability to work remotely, self-manage, and communicate effectively ? Willingness to ask questions, learn, and adapt ? Ability to visit sites in Florida (Tri-County area) as needed Preferred (But Not Mandatory): ? Revit experience ? Experience in permit plan development for remodels & new construction ? Knowledge of local Florida building codes ?
