Job Summary
We're looking for an Entry Level Underwriting Assistant to provide administrative support to our underwriting and sales departments. As an Entry Level Underwriting Assistant, you will be responsible for composing letters and correspondence, entering information into our database, and responding to member inquiries. This is a full-time position, working Monday through Friday, with a competitive salary of $18 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:
Compose letters, correspondence, and proposals to members, agents, and other stakeholders
Enter information into our database and update accounts to ensure accuracy and efficiency
Reach out to members to collect questionnaires and medical information, ensuring timely and accurate data collection
Respond to member inquiries and concerns via phone and email, providing exceptional customer service
Assist with composing and releasing Rate Increase and Decline letters, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
Create reports as needed to support underwriting and sales teams
Assist with planning sales events and activities to support business objectives
Requirements and Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field
1+ year of customer service, administrative, or data entry experience, preferably in a service, healthcare, or retail environment
Excellent communication skills, with a professional phone demeanor
Strong customer service orientation, with a focus on delivering exceptional service
Attention to detail, with ability to accurately enter data and maintain records
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the insurance or financial services industry
Familiarity with database management and reporting tools
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
