The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in tax accounting and a comprehensive understanding of financial concepts. This role requires expertise in various areas of accounting, including estate planning, corporate accounting, and public accounting, to provide exceptional service to our clients. The Tax Professional will be responsible for preparing tax returns, conducting financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Responsibilities
• Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships
• Conduct thorough audits to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations
• Provide guidance on estate planning, wills, trusts, and estate law matters
• Analyze financial statements and reports to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement
• Assist clients with financial planning and budgeting strategies
• Maintain accurate records of all transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
• Perform account reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations as needed
• Collaborate with clients on mergers & acquisitions and provide insights on financial implications
• Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and regulatory reporting requirements
• Offer support in financial sales and investment strategies as required
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Proven experience in tax accounting or public accounting is essential
• Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and double-entry bookkeeping practices
• Familiarity with financial software tools (e.g., Quicken, QuickBooks, Sage) is preferred
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
• Understanding of auditing practices and securities law is a plus
• Experience in non-profit accounting or asset management is beneficial
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly to clients
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
