Position Overview In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from designing and conducting structural analysis for commercial and residential buildings to performing site inspections and preparing detailed structural drawings using AutoCAD. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with clients, colleagues, and contractors to ensure project success and deliver high-quality results. After the initial 3 months of onboarding, you will have the flexibility to work from home, allowing you to balance your work and personal life effectively. Key Responsibilities Design and conduct structural analysis for commercial and residential buildings in Connecticut and New York, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations. Perform site inspections to assess the structural integrity of buildings, identifying potential risks and recommending corrective actions. Conduct site walkthroughs and fieldwork to evaluate existing conditions, gathering data and information to inform design and analysis decisions. Carry out structural analysis and design for custom single-family residences, structural repairs, building renovations, and new construction projects, including specialty engineering for steel fabricators. Prepare detailed structural drawings using AutoCAD, ensuring accuracy and precision in all aspects of the design. Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and contractors to ensure project success, providing clear and concise information and responding to queries and concerns in a timely manner. Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of hard and soft skills, including: Hard Skills 0-3 years of experience in structural engineering, or an entry-level graduate with a 3.4+ GPA in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering, or a related field. Knowledge of steel, foundations, and concrete, either through coursework or practical experience. Proficiency in AutoCAD, with the ability to prepare detailed structural drawings and designs. Soft Skills Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team, including clients, colleagues, and contractors, to achieve project goals and objectives. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively to resolve complex technical problems. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of initiative and self-motivation.
