Key Responsibilities
As a Freight Handling & Data Entry Associate at arenaflex, you will:

Operate motorized and manual equipment—including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks—to safely move freight across the dock area and into or out of trailers.
Inspect freight and verify that documentation (type, weight, hazardous classification, etc.) matches the physical shipment using arenaflex’s electronic tracking system or manual logs.
Secure cargo inside trailers employing pallets, straps, rope, and other restraining tools to prevent movement during transit.
Identify damaged items, perform minor repairs when possible, and document any discrepancies for further action.
Complete all required paperwork, digital forms, and daily reports accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
Provide courteous assistance to customers and service‑center personnel, answering basic freight‑related questions and helping them locate required documentation.
Perform hostling duties, such as moving trailers within the yard, when instructed by supervisory staff.
Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, safety policies, and arenaflex operating procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
Assist in miscellaneous tasks and special projects as directed, contributing to the overall efficiency of dock operations.


Essential Qualifications & Experience
What we require:

High school diploma or GED equivalent (preferred but not mandatory).
Minimum age of 18 years.
Basic math skills—ability to count, measure, and calculate freight weight and volume, with or without a calculator.
Fundamental written and verbal communication abilities to interact effectively with coworkers and customers.
Physical capability to lift and carry hand freight of varying weights repeatedly throughout the shift, including lifting dock plates that weigh approximately 100 lb and opening trailer doors requiring a 75 lb lift force.
Able to bend, squat, twist, push, and pull freight safely and efficiently for extended periods.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Prior exposure to warehouse, dock, or freight handling environments is advantageous but not required.
Willingness to learn and obtain any necessary certifications (e.g., forklift operator) within the first 90 days.
