About the Role The FedEx Data Entry Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of freight data. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to freight handling, data entry, and customer service. This is a remote-based position that requires a strong and diverse skillset, including basic math skills, written and verbal communication, and the ability to work independently. Key Responsibilities Perform freight handling using appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Verify documentation matches freight description, using current electronic or manual systems. Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies, such as pallets, straps, and rope. Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary. Verify and complete required documentation and reports. Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed. Perform hostling duties if required. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures. Perform other duties as required. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age. Prior experience in warehousing, freight handling, and/or forklift operations preferred. If hostler/yard mule duties are required, experience is preferred. Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator. Basic written and verbal communication skills. Ability to lift/carry hand freight of varying weights several times a week, to lift dock plates weighing approximately 100 pounds, and to open trailer doors requiring approximately 75 pounds of lift force, up to several times per day or more. Ability to bend, twist, squat, pushing/pulling freight throughout the shift. Ability to work independently and/or as a team member. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Previous dock/warehouse experience. Experience with data entry software and systems. Strong organizational and time management skills. Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Attention to detail and accuracy. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Basic math skills and ability to perform calculations. Physical stamina to lift, bend, and move freight.
