About the Role: Data Specialist for Netflix Games

As a Data Specialist in our Games DSE team, you'll play a crucial role in developing and implementing data pipelines to measure game performance and inform our business decisions. You'll work closely with our game studio partners to understand their data needs and collaborate with our Game Improvement teams to gather telemetry data from specific games. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the growth and success of Netflix Games.

Key Responsibilities


Design and engineer efficient, scalable, and flexible data pipelines to handle structured and unstructured data
Develop a deep understanding of the emerging games space at Netflix and identify opportunities for growth and improvement
Collaborate with our game studio partners to develop advanced metrics for games, such as maintenance and player engagement
Partner with Netflix's internal game studios and external game partners to ingest relevant metrics and game data into the Netflix ecosystem
Work closely with the Netflix SDK team and external game partners to obtain data through the Netflix Games SDK
Join a talented team of data engineers with diverse skill sets, collaborating closely with analytics engineering and data science partners


About You: Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need to possess a strong foundation in distributed data processing, excellent data intuition, and a passion for improving Netflix Games. The ideal candidate will have:


A strong background in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Scala, with at least 2 years of programming/data engineering experience
Proficiency in advanced SQL and experience with designing data pipelines using big data technologies (Hive, Voila, Flash, Flink) on medium to large-scale datasets
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud resources (S3, EC2, RDS, etc.) and a strong understanding of cloud-based data architecture
The ability to take requirements and implement flexible data models and pipelines that meet the needs of our game studio partners

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:


Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong focus on innovation and experimentation

Experience working with game development teams or in the gaming industry
A strong understanding of data governance and data quality principles
