The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and should have 0-3 years of experience. Experience with Bentley ProjectWise, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam Revu PDF Editor is preferred. Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication/coordination skills are essential.This position will design civil/structural components of electrical substations, including but not limited to, steel design, connection design, foundation design, and anchorage design, in accordance with governing industry codes and standards.This position will provide frequent exposure to structural design standards and codes, including but not limited to, AISC, ASCE, ACI, and IBC. This position will require the use of engineering software, including but not limited to, STAAD, MathCAD, and LPILE.This position is hybrid, with the option to be within a normal office environment, work fully remote, or a combination thereof. This position requires infrequent travel.Typical responsibilities include: Perform engineering calculations in accordance with governing industry code and client standardsUtilize finite element modeling and other engineering software, validating all results with supplemental hand calculationsPrepare construction drawings with the assistance of a designer/technician competent in the use of industry standard CADD software, and in accordance with client standardsPrepare fabrication level steel drawings and bill of materialsPrepare project documents in accordance with client requirementsAttend site visits as requiredAssist in the preparation of proposalsAssist Project Managers as neededAttend client, project and staff meetingsAttend seminars and/or training classesMaintain excellent client relationsMaintain a safe working environmentEducationBachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is requiredSkills/Experience: 0-3 years of related experience is requiredKnowledge of Bentley ProjectWise, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam Revu PDF Editor are requiredCompletion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam is preferredAbout Wade Trim:Wade Trim is committed to maximizing the value of infrastructure investments.
