About the Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity to join American Express as an Entry Level Product Designer, where you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of digital experiences for Dealers and partners serving merchants, with a particular focus on Amex Offers. As a Product Designer, you will be an integral part of a dynamic team that collaborates closely with Product, Research, Marketing, and Engineering groups to define and create innovative solutions. Key Responsibilities Lift the overall quality of UX and UI design of digital experiences for Dealers and partners serving merchants, with an emphasis on Amex Offers. Collaborate intimately with the Product, Research, Marketing, and Engineering teams to define and create plans that drive business value and customer satisfaction. Convey designs and work closely with Engineering to ensure proper execution and implementation of design solutions. Foster knowledge-driven solutions by partnering with the Research team to integrate customer findings and principles throughout the creative process. Transform ideas, business opportunities, partner input, and research into a clear, helpful, and positive outcome for Amex Merchants. Regularly share your designs and review the work of other team members to gain insights, feedback, and drive cross-team collaboration. Seek out and share opportunities to refine both individual and team processes, promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Communicate clearly and persuasively with a flair for visual storytelling, ensuring that your designs are understood and appreciated by stakeholders. Be an energetic advocate for the Amex Trader, championing the brand and its values within the team and beyond. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you should possess the following essential qualifications: A minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in UX/UI design or a related field. Experience working closely with product and engineering teams in an agile environment, understanding the intricacies of collaborative design processes. Outstanding skills in UX and Interaction design, with a portfolio that showcases your ability to craft user-centered designs. Proficiency in design and prototyping tools, with Figma being the preferred tool. Experience managing and prioritizing multiple tasks, demonstrating your ability to juggle competing demands and deadlines. A four-year degree in a connected field or relevant work experience that demonstrates your expertise and passion for UX/UI design. Preferred Qualifications While not mandatory, the following preferred qualifications will make you a more competitive candidate: Experience implementing UX writing and microcopy best practices, understanding the importance of clear and concise communication in design. A comprehension of data engineering and how to apply it to design, leveraging data insights to inform your design decisions. Experience creating journey maps and service diagrams to understand and convey a full start-to-finish insight, demonstrating your ability to think holistically about customer experiences. Experience using or contributing to design systems and DesignOps, recognizing the value of standardized design processes and collaboration. Experience working in a heavily regulated industry or on a project with significant design constraints, showcasing your ability to adapt to complex design challenges.
