Our scope includes the Lambda website, cloud APIs and systems as well as internal tooling for system deployment, management and maintenance.What You’ll DoOversee the design, implementation, deployment, and operations of our core cloud control plane servicesLead and grow talented team of senior and staff level software engineersLead projects from concept through production release, support, and maintenanceCollaborate with fellow Engineering Managers and leadership to align your team’s work with company goals and customer needsDrive engineering best practices and operational excellence within the team (including documentation, ticketing, code reviews, testing, etc)Provide technical guidance and mentorship to foster a culture of continuous learning and growthServe as the glue between customer-facing dashboard team and low-level infrastructure teamsCollaborate with product and engineering teams to ideate and build cutting edge orchestration and scheduling systems tailored to modern AI workloadsYouBS/MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experienceAt least four years of engineering management experience, especially in a related application areaAt least seven years of software engineering or individual contributor experience, including at least two years of experience in Python or Go, with significant exposure to designing, building, and maintaining large-scale, high-performance distributed systemsDemonstrated experience managing teams in a high-growth startup environmentExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to develop and maintain effective business relationshipsStrong problem solving, project management, and decision making skills, with a track record of successfully driving projects to completionDeep understanding of software and hardware concepts, systems programming, networking, storage, database systemsExpertise in modern containerization and virtualization technologies, e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, KVMAbility to balance fast-paced product feature delivery with technical maturity and scalabilityFamiliar with the requirements and challenges involved in preparing a company for an IPO, including compliance and securityExcellent organizational skills, with a knack for bringing order to chaosStrong ability to guide deep technical discussions to meaningful conclusions and actionable plansBackground in multi-region deployment strategies and high availability architectures Experience directing the design and implementation of fault-tolerant systems with automated recovery mechanismsNice to HaveExperience in the AI/ML or computer hardware industryProven track record of designing and implementing large scale cloud systemsSalary Range Information Based on market data and other factors, the annual salary range for this position is $300,000-$450,000.
