Engineer Storage, Virtualization & Systems (Remote)
Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Operations Engineer to support, maintain, and optimize our enterprise infrastructure environment. This is a hands-on technical role responsible for core datacenter technologies including storage systems, SAN, virtualization platforms, backup solutions, and disaster recovery capabilities. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong communication, documentation, and customer service skills.Duties and Responsibilities: Infrastructure & Platform OperationsAdminister and support enterprise storage platforms (primarily Pure Storage or equivalent)Manage Storage Area Network (SAN) environments utilizing Cisco Nexus switches or similar technologiesSupport server virtualization platforms including VMware and Microsoft Hyper-VPerform and support P2V and V2V migrationsMaintain Dell physical server hardware and related infrastructure components Backup, Replication & Data ProtectionAdminister backup and recovery solutions (primarily Veeam or equivalent)Support data replication and high-availability strategiesParticipate in disaster recovery (DR) planning, testing, and executionPerform system and data restorations as required Data & System MigrationPlan and execute infrastructure-level data migrationsSupport system upgrades, consolidations, and platform transitionsEnsure minimal operational disruption during migration activities Monitoring & ReliabilitySupport infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and performance analysisProactively identify capacity, performance, and stability risksContribute to reliability and operational improvement initiatives Operational ExcellenceDevelop and maintain high-quality technical documentationParticipate in incident response and root cause analysisCollaborate with cross-functional IT teams and stakeholdersProvide infrastructure support for on-premises hosting environments Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplineMinimum 10 years of infrastructure / datacenter engineering experienceStrong hands-on experience with:Enterprise storage systemsSAN networking conceptsVirtualization platformsBackup and recovery solutionsPhysical server hardwareExperience with infrastructure monitoring and operational troubleshootingDemonstrated experience with data migration activitiesStrong documentation and technical writing skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong customer service orientation Preferred / Plus QualificationsExperience with:Pure Storage platformsCisco Nexus switchingVMware and/or Hyper-V environmentsVeeam Backup & ReplicationDell enterprise server hardwareExperience supporting DR design and testingIndustry certifications strongly preferred, such as:VMware (VCP / VCAP)Microsoft (Azure / Windows Server / Hyper-V)Cisco (CCNA / CCNP)Storage / Backup vendor certificationsNote: Direct experience with our specific technology stack is beneficial but not mandatory.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsHigh level of technical ownership and accountabilityAbility to prioritize and manage multiple operational tasksStrong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skillsProcess-driven mindset with emphasis on stability and reliabilityClear and structured communication style Work EnvironmentEnterprise on-premises infrastructure / datacenter environmentParticipation in after-hours maintenance and incident response as requiredPhysical Demands:Must be able to remain seated for extended periods.Regular use of a computer and other office machinery, such as printers and copy machines.Occasional movement around the office.Frequent communication via telephone.Neumo Summary:With the backing of four decades of public sector expertise and corporate capability, Neumo has successfully supported government services.
