Key ResponsibilitiesFeature Ownership: Take end-to-end ownership of medium-complexity features including network device configuration modules and monitoring dashboardsNetwork Device Integration: Develop integrations with various network equipment vendors' APIs and management protocolsData Visualization: Create interactive charts, graphs, and network topology visualizations for real-time network monitoringPerformance Optimization: Optimize application performance for handling network telemetry data and real-time updatesCross-team Collaboration: Work closely with backend teams to design APIs for network device managementMobile Development: Contribute to mobile applications used by field technicians for network device configurationAutomation Scripts: Develop scripts and tools for network device provisioning and bulk configuration operationsCustomer Issue Resolution: Debug and resolve customer-reported issues in network management workflowsJunior Mentoring: Provide guidance and code reviews for Engineer II team membersTechnical Research: Research new networking technologies and evaluate their integration into our platformTechnical RequirementsFrontend Proficiency: Solid experience with React.js/Angular, TypeScript, and modern CSS frameworksBackend Development: Good experience with Node.js, Python, or Java, including API development and database integrationNetwork Protocols: Basic understanding of SNMP, SSH, and HTTP-based device management protocolsDatabase Skills: Experience with both relational databases and time-series databases for network metrics storageCloud Services: Hands-on experience with AWS/Azure/GCP services, particularly networking and compute servicesReal-time Systems: Understanding of WebSocket, Server-Sent Events, or similar technologies for real-time data updatesTesting: Experience with automated testing frameworks and test-driven development practicesDevOps Basics: Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processesNetworking Domain KnowledgeUnderstanding of network device types (switches, routers, access points) and their basic functionsFamiliarity with network monitoring concepts and key performance indicatorsBasic knowledge of network topologies and device relationshipsUnderstanding of enterprise network management workflowsInterest in learning advanced networking concepts and protocolsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related technical field2-5 years of software development experience with increasing responsibilitySome exposure to networking concepts or infrastructure software (preferred but not required)Experience working in Agile development environmentsStrong debugging and problem-solving skillsGood communication skills for cross-functional collaborationProfessional DevelopmentOpportunity to work directly with network hardware and management systemsTraining on enterprise networking concepts and network operationsExposure to large-scale distributed systems and cloud architecturePath toward technical specialization in network management softwareCompany Statement/Values: At NETGEAR, we are on a mission to unleash the full potential of connectivity with intelligent solutions that delight and protect.
