Grid Software’s Power Technologies International (PTI) Energy Business Advisory team is helping businesses navigate complexity, drive growth, and steer strategic direction in an evolving landscape. Our wide range of services offer solutions in planning, managing risk, improving operations, conducting custom market studies, supporting M&A activities, and developing infrastructure. We are looking for an Energy Consultant to deliver valuable solutions to utilities, investors, and project developers. We seek someone with deep expertise in power market nodal modeling to support asset valuation, curtailment and congestion analysis, strategic market outlooks, and project siting decisions. This is a remote position based in the Contiguous U.S. You’ll make an impact as you: Support consulting engagements using market models (e.g., Aurora, PLEXOS, PROMOD) to evaluate asset performance, value, and risks. Perform congestion, curtailment, and basis risk analyses to support project developers and investors in siting, interconnection, and portfolio decisions. Develop wholesale market forecasts and strategic outlooks to identify opportunities for clean energy, storage, and emerging technologies. Support M&A and transaction advisory by quantifying locational value, revenue potential, and risks under evolving market and policy conditions. Deliver insights that help clients optimize development pipelines, maximize asset value, and align with market and policy trends. Prepare detailed written reports and compelling presentations that clearly communicate technical results and strategic implications. Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications: Basic qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, economics, operations research, finance, statistics, physics, or mathematics; an MBA accompanying a bachelor’s degree in a discipline different than listed also will meet our education requirement Strong understanding of U.S. power markets, renewable integration, and transmission constraints, with proven experience supporting related projects Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time, primarily within the U.S. Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization Preferred qualifications: Prior consulting experience with utilities, developers, or investors. Ability to communicate complex technical analyses in clear, client-ready deliverables. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, interconnection processes, and decarbonization policies. Details regarding our benefits can be found here: The pay range for this position is $68,830 - $117,994 annually with a target incentive of 10% of the base salary.
