Ensures offload times align with hospital and EMS goals. Reports on the activity level and outcomes of visits regularly to leadership. Conducts clinically relevant EMS training, such as physician-led stroke care education. Plans and implements visits to EMS stations, meeting with paramedics/EMTs, and collaborates with Emergency Room staff to grow EMS runs. Coordinates strategic efforts with Regional EMS Relations Representative and ER Director to ensure division and hospital goals are met. Participates in the development of growth and marketing plans. Demonstrates knowledge of the hospital’s and competitor’s strengths and weaknesses within defined service lines. Performs other duties as assigned. Resolves issues related to efficiency, quality, service, or other concerns, documents issues, participates in resolution, and communicates updates to stakeholders. Provides intelligence to hospital departments for process improvements requested or suggested by EMS/paramedics or other stakeholders. Understands why EMS/paramedics transport patients to specific facilities and competitors. Creates a list of all EMS companies and Emergency Rooms in the area, including hospitals, free-standing EDs, Urgent Cares, and clinical service sites. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and public speaking (platform skills) • * Ability to develop and sustain professional relationships and loyalty to the hospital as well as develop new referral sources • * Understanding of EMS and/or Emergency Department processes • * Demonstrate initiative, poise, confidence and willingness to accept challenges. • * Ability to travel between hospital and EMS locations. • * Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the demands of the position • * Must possess good time management skills and be customer and results-oriented. • * Familiarity with hospital operations, language and roles. • * Ability to verbally articulate service line and product attributes • * Ability to conceptualize and generate sales within a fluid environment, with particular skill in identifying and setting priorities. • * Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact with EMS, employees, allied health providers and healthcare leadership. • * Ability to represent AdventHealth mission to customers and the public. • * Demonstrated effective writing ability. • * Knowledge of the hospital sales industry. • * Ability to use or learn customer relationship management software • * Self-directed with an ability to oversee multiple projects/activities simultaneously. • Additional Knowledge and Skills-Emergency Management • * Knowledge of the Incident Command Structure and the understanding of the interrelationships, responsibilities, goals and functions of local, state and federal government in planning and implementing emergency services. • * Knowledge of Command Center/Emergency Operations Center functions at various agency levels. • * Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing, to a wide variety of people and audiences. • * The ability to prepare comprehensive detailed reports and plans. To read, interpret, comprehend and apply written and verbal policies, procedures, rules, regulations and laws. • * Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with a variety of agencies, organizations, and individuals. • * Basic medical and hospital administrative knowledge to understand the aspects of emergency response within the healthcare structure. • * Understanding of Emergency Management requirements as stated within National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Det Norske Veritas (DNV)/National Integrated Accreditation for Healthcare (NIAHO), Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and other regulatory bodies associated with the healthcare industry. • * Understanding of ISO and its application within Emergency Management. [Required] • KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED: • Practical knowledge of response to emergency situations, and the ability to control emergency • situations with an intelligent and calm demeanor. • Knowledge of the Incident Command Structure as it applies to healthcare facilities.
