DE C.V.Profession (Job Category):Engineering & ScienceJob Schedule: Full timeRemote:YesJob Description:The Opportunity:The objective of the EMS Applications Engineer is to support delivery of HITACHI SCADA/DMS/EMS systems and applications globally.How You'll Make an ImpactDeliver configured systems using Network Control approved product implementation standardsAcquire working knowledge of regional market needs and help drive standardization in the delivery processEnsure adequate documentation of required processes and practiceGather and validate data required to configure NM EMS/DMS applications.Provide technical assistance in evaluating performance and results of EMS/DMS applications, systems and procedures.Write and maintain functional specifications for new or modified business systems.Translate business models into an information system representation.Develop, coordinate, and implement plans to test business and functional processes during system development and quality assurance testing.Process data to create electric system data models, defining and debugging geospatial databases and other SCADA/DMS/EMS related data.Understand and be proficient in the use of HITACHI NM software.Track and identify changes to product documentation and support regional implementation units to understand changes in NM products.Create or assist in the writing of user documentation, instructions, and procedures.Monitor and document post-implementation problems and revision requests.Conduct test of system functions, validate results, detect errors and coordinate resolution of identified problems.Monitor system performance and tune software parameters prior to system delivery.Review productivity reports and problem records to evaluate performance of computer system.Your Background:Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of experience or Master’s Degree in electrical engineeringKnowledge of power system models and power system applications such as State Estimator and Power Flow.Knowledge of programming languages including C, C++Knowledge of industry model standards such as the Common Information Model (CIM) standardKnowledge of the Geo Spatial data modelling and familiarity with the ESRI model and tools is a plusWorking knowledge of relational databases and data modelingExcellent computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office and Microsoft VisioA basic understanding of Operating systems (Windows and Linux)A good understanding of Oracle and other database managementAbility to read, write and communicate verbally in EnglishInternational travel may be required.Qualified individuals with a disability may request a reasonable accommodation if you are unable or limited in your ability to use or access the Hitachi Energy career site as a result of your disability.
