About the Role: Employee Relations Specialist

This position is part of arenaflex's regional Center of Excellence and will be primarily responsible for managing complex employee relations issues and concerns through a consultative, relationship-focused model. This role will support multiple locations and business units throughout the United States with a particular focus on their geographic region. As an Employee Relations Specialist at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive workplace culture and ensuring that our employees feel heard, supported, and valued.

The Employee Relations Specialist role offers an exciting opportunity to make your expertise a vital part of how we bring our vision to life. Your key responsibilities will include:


Strategic Partnership: Develop and maintain a positive, value-added, consultative relationship with business leaders and HR Business Partners across the arenaflex organization. Identify and resolve employee issues within these groups with professionalism and empathy.
Advisory Excellence: Educate and advise leaders and employees on all performance management issues including attendance, performance, conduct, and harassment. Ensure full compliance with policies, practices, and applicable employment law.
Conflict Resolution & Mediation: Provide mediation and resolution guidance to promote a positive workplace culture. Navigate sensitive situations with discretion, fairness, and emotional intelligence.
Policy Development: Manage a broad range of tasks including the understanding and development of policies and procedures. Work on training initiatives related to key Employee Relations issues.
Program Development: Contribute to the development and execution of Employee Relations programs aligned with line of business goals and HR strategy.
Investigation Leadership: In certain cases, lead grievance investigations and work toward resolutions while identifying process improvement opportunities and policy gaps through trend analysis.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Effectively partner and collaborate with colleagues throughout arenaflex, including HR Business Partners, Compliance, Health, Safety, Security, Health Services, and the General Counsel's Office.
Data-Driven Insights: Analyze employee relations data to identify trends, proactively address concerns, and recommend strategic improvements to workplace policies and practices.


What We're Looking For: Required Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:


Educational Background: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. A PHR (Professional in Human Resources) or SHRM-CP certification is preferred.
HR Consulting Experience: Experience in a human resources consulting role with a demonstrated ability to influence without authority. You should be comfortable advising senior leaders and navigating complex organizational dynamics.
Boundary Setting & Time Management: Proven ability to establish boundaries, manage multiple responsibilities, and deliver against tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Communication Excellence: Excellent interpersonal skills with experience dealing with multiple levels of the organization. Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience in presenting and contributing to the development of employee communications and training programs.
Analytical Thinking: Sound analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and planning skills. Ability to understand broad HR issues and resolve conflict situations effectively.
Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications. Ability to conduct investigations and drive to positive resolution.
Work Authorization: Business authorization to work with arenaflex in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.


Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following would strengthen your application:


Advanced degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
Experience in a Fortune 500 corporate environment
Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws
Experience with HRIS systems and employee relations case management tools
Background in conducting workplace investigations
Change management and organizational development experience
