Employee Benefits Analyst II

The role involves analyzing financial information for clients with benefit programs, preparing standard analyses, and serving as the primary contact with insurance carriers for marketing coverage.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for financial analytics for predominantly fully insured clients. Some clients may be self-funded. Typical client size is 100 to 250 livesPrepare standard analyses with minimal customization. Analyses may include: Market review analysis, Renewal rate and funding projections and modeling, Analysis of claims utilization, Rate and Contribution analysis, Claims experience reports, Benchmarking, Financial funding analysis with guidanceDevelop alternative strategies, plan modeling, and cost reduction opportunitiesPerform technical analysis of group insurance contracts and financial arrangementsServe as primary contact with insurance carriers for marketing coverage for new business quotes and renewal. Includes requesting quotes, evaluating options, and conducting fact-based negotiation of rates and benefit featuresDevelop and maintain excellent carrier relationshipsAnalyze claims experience data. With guidance identify financial performance conclusionsWrite client facing Executive Summaries that provides observations and findings. With guidance, recommend solutions and next stepsPrepare carrier and client written correspondence. Includes carrier renewal confirmation letters and client renewal lettersParticipate in the peer review process, primarily as the reviewed party.
