Embedded Banking Operations Manager (Hybrid, Remote)

The Embedded Banking Operations Manager will have primary responsibility for the Bank Operations functions that directly support the Emprise Embedded Business Unit statement of work - e.g., developing/delivering associated capabilities, funds flows, reconciliation processes, payments/money movement, Processor Ops, Card Services, et al. The leader will be responsible for functional development (e.g., necessary capabilities, processes, and resources), planning and execution of the associated of work. The role will be heavily integrated with the Emprise Embedded Business Unit across the entire lifecycle, while also ensuring effective and efficient execution by leveraging the synergy of the broader Bank Operations team. The position reports to the Senior Vice President of Bank Operations.

This position is eligible for a Hybrid schedule in Wichita, KS and surrounding areas. Remote in South Dakota, Utah, Oklahoma, Missouri, Louisiana, and Nebraska.

Essential functions of the role:
• Liaison Between Business Unit and Bank Operations functional team
• Liaise between Bank Operations and the Emprise Embedded business unit stakeholders as well as other functional teams (e.g., Finance, Data & AI, Technology), ensuring clear communication across the entire embedded business lifecycle.
• Embedded Bank Operations
• Build out Embedded Bank Operations in an effective manner and is also scalable for future growth.
• Develop and implement new capabilities, operational processes and procedures to baseline execution, enhance effectiveness and efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across aspects of embedded banking/embedded finance (a.k.a. Banking-as-a-Service) such as funds flows, settlement, reconciliation, processor operations, ACH/wire/RTP operations, and network card / card services operations
• Develop and maintain strategic working relationships with key stakeholders across the bank to enhance our Embedded capabilities
• Communicate progress, risks, expectations, timelines, milestones, and other key metrics to stakeholders
• Team Leadership
• Build, lead, develop, and maintain a highly engaged and capable team
• Provide regular and timely coaching of associates on their performance
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the Bank Operations department
• Drive continuous improvement, offer solutions, and demonstrate performance in support of business goals
• Embedded Banking/Embedded Finance Expertise
• Leverage embedded banking/embedded finance experience to guide and shape the implementation of banking operations for the Emprise Embedded business, ensuring alignment with industry best practices
• Review current processes for efficiency and effectiveness on an ongoing basis
• Define new/necessary processes and procedures to drive operational excellence
• Identify and mitigate operational risks by implementing robust controls, key performance indicators (KPI), and cadences
• Stay abreast of industry best practices, regulations, and compliance standards
• Collaborate across functions to seek innovative process improvements
• Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams
• Work closely with Emprise Embedded sales/business development and relationship managers, Product Development, Technology, Data & AI, and Enterprise Architecture to ensure development of scalable and effective banking operations within our embedded banking solutions
• Act as the primary liaison and point of communication for Emprise associates, partners/program managers and embedded clients (as required by Emprise Embedded) for areas of responsibilities, such as funds flow, reconciliation, processor operations, ACH/payment operations, and card operations
• Ensure accurate and timely responses to inquiries
• Assess department priorities and communicate to associates
• Trouble shoot problems and offer resolution as needed
• Performance Monitoring and Reporting
• Implement KPIs and key risk indicators (KRIs) to monitor and report on the effectiveness of operational processes, making data-driven recommendations for improvement

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related Field
• Minimum 7 years of leadership experience in Banking Operations
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Embedded Banking/Embedded Finance/Banking as a Service (BaaS)
• Strong understating of funds flows, reconciliation/settlement, processor operations, ACH operations and overall payments, and network card operations / card services
• Proficiency with large server-based applications and typical desktop software
